Our Vision

We envision a network of people and teams who are prepared to respond and able to recover from difficult situations they, their families, or their communities may face.

Our Mission

As an organization, we are creating a network of people and teams who are prepared to respond and able to recover from difficult situations they, their families, or their communities may face.

To support this mission, the Headquarters Team focuses on providing structure, organization, and resources to the Network. The day-to-day activities at Headquarters are focused on:

informing – keeping the Members up-to-date on current events and threat models they may be exposed to;

equipping – finding, curating, and offering to Members the equipment, training, and other resources they need to be successful, and;

connecting – helping individuals get connected with other people to form teams, helping teams form into groups, and groups into a nationwide Network.

To live out this mission, Members of the Network take personal responsibility for their own preparation and response. They join with other Members and work together to build strong teams and communities. The day-to-day activities of Members are focused on:

preparing – carefully considering the risks and threats to the well-being of yourself, your family, and your community. Determining the impact of those risks should they materialize, and preparing a response and recovery plan you can confidently execute.

responding – to your own situations and supporting others, through helping others we help ourselves, and

recovering – whether it is training or actual, review your performance, restock, repair, and prepare to go again.

Our Values

Trust over Fear – The foundation of every thriving community is trust. We choose to trust our fellow members rather than fear them and offer our trust first. By doing so we both earn trust with one another.

Respect over Contempt – We may not agree on everything and that’s okay. We commit to respect the views of our fellow members, even when we disagree with them and when we disagree, we do so in a respectful way.

Personal Responsibility over Blame – Every day we make choices, and our results and outcomes are dictated by those choices…not the whims of someone else. We take responsibility for our choices and own our results.

Community Involvement before Criticism – Constructive criticism is always helpful, but only after making an effort to contribute. By helping my community be better prepared, my risk during crisis is reduced.

You Are Not Alone – No member of the Network is alone! We are in this together and commit to supporting and assisting each other when necessary.
