Seasonal preparedness

Mobility preparedness is our homestead on the go so to speak. We can probably all agree on some basics our vehicles need to be prepared at all times.

There are idiosyncrasies of our vehicles, and its current condition, for which you prepare specific to your needs. We need to perform regular and seasonal maintenance. Seasonal maintenance will depend on the region you live in. Let’s break this down into categories of mobile preparedness. Vehicle Equipment, Shelter & Warmth, Travel supplies, and miscellaneous.

Vehicle Equipment:
Fluids: antifreeze/coolant, brake fluid, oil, transmission, windshield, magic tank or gas
Replacements: spare tire, fix a flat, bulbs, fuses, hoses belts
Tools/Equipment: Ice scraper, jack, lug wrench, jumper cables, battery start, flares, ratchet set, screw driver, multitool, fire extinguisher

Shelter & Warmth
Blankets, Cooling towel, change of clothes (seasonal) coat (seasonal), gloves: work and warmth, Hooded Poncho, sleeping bag, shoes (seasonal) hand warmers (seasonal) tube tent/ rope and tarp, fire starter, compass,

Travel Supplies & Miscellaneous:
Candles, fire stick, flashlight and radio (hand crank and battery), head lamp, light sticks, solar charger battery, batteries, food bars, shelf sustainable foods and drink powders, survival whistle, first aid kit, folding shovel, rescue mirror, toilet tabs or paper, maps, metal cup for boiling water, water, water purification system, wire saw

Many of you have fine tuned this process and probably even have a seasonal bag you switch out depending on the season. As we change seasons, what are your helpful tips to be efficient or what is one thing you use that has replaced several others?
